New Original Watercolour Paintings. My own original concepts based on my imagination and the scene in front of me - Everywhere is paradise! No matter where we are in the world
Everywhere is paradise! No matter where we are in the world everywhere is beautiful with it's share of amazing people and stories. My paintings have been described as "happy" and "feel good", there is a very deliberate reason for this: there is enough ugly, too many senseless killings and too much pain in the world. I'm not into shock value, I'm just a painter who prefers to communicate via a brush. I laugh while I paint (in between the scowling and cussing, of course) especially when a watercolour accident makes a most wonderful shape all by itself. My goal is to give you something beautiful you can look at everyday and find a brush stroke or a nuance of colour that, perhaps, you didn't see yesterday.

So now you're going ask me how my Glamping paintings started. I had a vision of a campervan underneath a blanket of huge abstracted native trees - a tiny, tiny campervan, almost a cartoon, if you've been to my classes you'll know why I say that - it's because I love California School of Watercolour; many of these artists created for Hanna Barbera and then for Disney, so clever in their simplification - masterful single brush marks that tell you clearly what the subject is - you can "read" it instantly.
