BLUE - Agapanthus

a couple of reminders about yesterday:

1. I used: cobalt blue, permanent rose and raw sienna
   alternatives: french ultramarine, alizarin crimson, indian yellow
2. background:
   the florets if agapanthus you cant see because they're hidden behind the flowers in the front
   started wet-in-wet , lots of water (big brush) and light value wash of cobalt leaving some areas of white paper. paper surface is shiny with water.
3. middle ground:
   shine begins to leave the paper as it starts the drying process, wait a couple minutes, this is key: Using a little less water but a little more paint on your brush. place few marks on the damp paper to indicate central florets. few hard edges. 
4. Foreground:
   hopefully paper is damp'ish (weather dependent)
   more flowers and detail: more line work and stems
   pick one or two flowers to focus on, add sharper contrast, lift light while still damp
5. Have a go at drawing the agapanthus during week , what you dont see today you'll see tomorrow - draw everyday!
6. bring painting back to class next week
